“We want to be champions, we don’t want to start well, we want to finish well”.

“At half time I told them we were playing against a very well organised wall, an incredible spirit with everybody fighting for every ball”.

Indeed, David Meyler lifted a shot over the bar from a promising position just seconds before Rashford struck, leaving the home side wondering what might have been. “The fans came onto the pitch to celebrate and that is part of football”.

The partnership of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Wayne Rooney looks like it’s gaining fluidity as both players are finding each other with more ease and creating chances for one other.

Rashford has been named in the England under-21 squad, rather than the seniors, for the forthcoming worldwide break.

Eric Bailly: Played fearlessly and was not afraid to drift into midfield to help United with build up from the back, used his pace well to counter the threat of the pace that Hull presented on rare occasions. I don’t know. I have to analyse.

“I am happy, I think we deserve it completely but I have to say that Hull City played their game to get their point in a fantastic way”.

United didn’t have this aura when Louis van Gaal was their manager last season, but all that has changed with Mourinho in charge, as this serial victor has brought his mentality into a dressing room that needed revitalising. The important thing is that he’s working very well. “We can start some matches with a player in front of Zlatan”. ‘You are not going to drop another player when they are doing well.

When asked about the prospect of Ibrahimovic and Rashford playing together, Mourinho indicated that he feels that could leave United exposed, saying: “To play that way, we have to be very dominant”.

Jose went with the same lineup he’s been using for the past two games and cited “stability” as one of the reasons for making no changes to the team while admitting that “he felt bad” about leaving out players for the matchday squad, who also had worked really hard to be in the team. “I said to them ‘give me that'”.

Jose Mourinho fears Marouane Fellaini has suffered a “bad” back injury, but maintains the Manchester United midfielder will still join up with the Belgium squad during next week’s global break. It’s early days but United under Mourinho is beginning to have the same aura as Ferguson’s sides, and even scoring goals in so-called “Fergie Time”.
