Danny Rose rescues point for Spurs vs. Liverpool

“Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge seems less content at adjusting his game, hinting that he will be not content to wing it whilst Roberto Firmino or Dvicok Origi play centrally”.

This may have been Mignolet’s last start for Liverpool in a while with Loris Karius nearing full health for real matches and not just training sessions. We have to accept the point and that’s not a problem because it’s Tottenham.

“We showed we can be good”.

Sadio Mane thought he had scored in the second half only for the goal to be, arguably incorrectly, ruled out for offside.

“We are not a team who will wait and be behind the ball to wait for one or two chances, we want to attack, we want to score goals”.

Liverpool take on Tottenham Hotspur this weekend in a game that they can not afford to lose after the shock defeat to Burnley last week. “It’s hard to create one chance, we had a few”. “I’m a centre-forward. In the modern day game you have to try and be flexible but everyone knows my best position”.

“But unless there are players there available that will fit in and are better than what we’ve got then it’s not worth doing it for the sake of it”.

“I think ultimately we’re disappointed”, Milner told Sky Sports. “Brilliant play. What can I say, it’s not too good, but it happened”.

Kyle Walker was replaced by Vincent Janssen in the 28th minute due to feeling unwell and it was possibly the full-back’s illness that meant Coutinho was left unmarked at the far post, with Vorm again coming to the rescue.

“If you want to you can always talk to me about players who didn’t start”.

“And it was true that at half-time it was a deserved 1-0 to Liverpool and the second half we raised our performance levels”.

“It’s quite easy. I like this player and he is very important for this club 100%”.

“It is true we wanted to play a little bit long but we started to make some mistakes”. In the second half we didn’t do enough.

Liverpool are unbeaten in seven games against Spurs and haven’t lost to the Lilywhites since November 2012.

“The effort and the character we showed today were fantastic”.

But the result against Burnley adds negative context to the draw with Tottenham, especially with how they were unable to put Spurs away despite creating the requisite amount of chances. It’s not easy when you play a team that are flawless on the counter-attack and you need to take risks.
