The wraps come off the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster

Just last weekend we revealed that the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV Roadster would be unveiled at The Quail during Monterey vehicle Week and, as expected, the covers have now come off Lamborghini’s first open-top SuperVeloce.

A vision of drama, the new Aventador looks to be vintage Lamborghini, with the lack of roof only adding to the insane styling quirks of its coupe brother. Automobile Magazine expects this model to shed a few more pounds of weight to enable the new auto to meet the Superveloce status, though Stephan Winkelmann’s Lamborghini has not released all of the information regarding the vehicle’s specifications yet.

“The

Superveloce is the purest, most sports-oriented and fastest series production Lamborghini ever.

“. “The Roadster version represents our commitment to satisfying our passionate clients with immensely emotional driving dynamics combined with an extraordinary open air experience”, he said in a statement.

The 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce Roadster is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 that makes 750 horsepower and 509 lb/ft. torque.

Performance in a straight line is barely diminished, with the roadster dropping 0.1 seconds off the coupe’s 0 to 60 miles per hour run, achieving the feat in 2.9 seconds.

Power is sent to all four wheels via a seven-speed ISR transmission that can be left in automatic or controlled by shift paddles, and a Haldex-type four-wheel drive system. Elsewhere, the SV Roadster features all the same visual and aerodynamic modifications as the coupe.

The Roadster maintains the coupe’s breathtaking acceleration, sheer power and handling prowess. Other features brought over from the hardtop model may include adaptive steering to help keep the SV planted on solid ground.

It’s going to be priced at $530,075. Thus, the two roof parts each weigh less than six kilograms (13.2 lb) and can be stowed easily in the luggage compartment.
