Jose Mourinho said that substitute and match-winner Marcus Rashford gave Manchester United a “diversity” in their football during their 1-0 win against Hull City and predicted that the 18-year-old will play “a lot of matches for sure”.

But the youngster, left out of Allardyce’s first senior England senior squad in order to drop down for the Under-21s, isn’t guaranteed his first competitive start under Mourinho for their next match against Manchester City on September 10 – despite scoring the victor against them last time under Louis van Gaal.
They’ve shown some flaws in the first two matches no doubt, but they look as much the part of a league title victor as Chelsea or Manchester City or anybody else; at least thus far.
Mourinho feels that Rashford, who has never previously played for his country’s Under-21 side despite having three senior caps, will benefit from the experience he will get from joining up with Gareth Southgate’s squad.
This was evident against Hull City, with Marcus Rashford scoring a late, late victor after United refused to settle for anything less than victory.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s three-match scoring run came to end, but United was saved by another striker at the opposite end of his career.

Rooney was only taken off deep into injury time in an effort to kill more time on the clock and bring in an extra defender in Chris Smalling. “And for a guy of his qualities, a normal season is a good season so I think he will have a good season”.
