The US has also reportedly said that violations of human rights in the region should stop immediately.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent comments on Balochistan that sought to bring global attention to human rights violations in the Pakistani province were praised by Baloch nationalists in exile, at an event in USA capital organised by Ahmar Mustikhan, a Baloch activist and founder of “American Friends of Balochistan”.
He said he wanted assurances that any government in Pakistan should guarantee the sanctity of the formula worked out for the protection of Baloch rights. “It is for the first time that an Indian Prime Minister has spoken”, he said. “We believe that India should have taken this step a long time ago”, he said.
“I am thoroughly indebted to Prime Minister Modi”.
Mr. Mustikhan thanked Mr. Modi and “mother India” for the support to Baloch people. He claimed that the use of aerial bombardment and gases have become common in Balochistan, while referring to the province as the world capital of missing people. “We are prepared for dialogue on the rights of the Baloch people”. ‘The derogatory speech of Altaf Hussain hurt feelings and emotions of 200 million Pakistanis and made them grieved and angry, ‘ the resolution said. We want freedom of Pakistan.

Earlier this week, Indian flag along with pictures of PM Modi and Baloch freedom fighter, Akbar Bugti were held in protests in Balochistan.
