Robert Griffin III to start as Browns face Bucs this week

That’s right, the Browns should begin shopping Josh McCown in trade talks. All three of them as well as Andrew Hawkins ended up getting plenty of first-team work, but it was Gordon who clearly left the best impression.

He has 161 receptions for 2,754 yards and 14 touchdowns in 35 career games, all with the Browns.

“I don’t know if I learned anything new”, Jackson said after the Wednesday practice in shells.

Hargreaves has started working with the first-team defense, both at outside cornerback and inside at nickel, and linebacker Lavonte David said his recent surge went hand-in-hand with the former Wharton and Gators star simply building some self-confidence.

All of that being said, what five takeaways can be seen from tonight’s third preseason game of the season for the Browns? Lee probably wanted to jog off the field at that point, but he couldn’t because Humphries found some serious open field on his return, and that’s where things got interesting.

At this point, Josh Gordon can nearly single-handedly turn Hue Jackson’s reworked Cleveland Browns offense into a threat. “I think he’ll be fine”.

Gotta get a look at him tonight, see what he looks like, see if RG3 looks his way and figure out what he might be like after the four game suspension is lifted.

Either way, the Browns are looking at a gamble and how they play this out could have a major impact on the future of the franchise.

Dirk Koetter, Tampa Bay’s first-year coach, said the Bucs are benefiting from extra work against players, as well as offensive and defensive schemes, they don’t face in practice every day. “It’s good we’re scoring”.

Two catches, 87 yards, one touchdown – the Browns couldn’t have asked for much more from Gordon in his first game action in more than a year.

Griffin, McCown and Cody Kessler completed 19-of-31 passes without throwing an interception. “We’re all going to battle. But we had some miscommunication that needs to get cleaned up”. “Each team is a little bit different, but just playing and working against different guys is good”. On top of that, in Week 4, the Browns play the Redskins, letting RGIII show this old team what he’s really capable of. PK Roberto Aguayo, who went 3-of-6 in field goal tries in practice Tuesday and was booed, did not have to attempt any kicks against the Browns on Wednesday.

This is something that will continue as the Browns are turning down trade offers for Gordon.
