Frazier’s OT run lifts NDSU over Charleston Southern 24-17
Frazier ran for a team-high 79 yards as the Bison escaped an upset bid by the sixth-ranked Buccaneers. “There were times it looked like we were about to be out and our guys just kept on striking”. “There are a lot of things we can take from this came and build from, but we really wanted to come out and win”.

“They’re obviously a heck of a football team”, Chadwell said of the Bison.
NDSU had six penalties for 70 yards, many of which nullified big plays.
While the Bison offense generated only 132 yards of total offense in the first half, the defense limited Charleston Southern to 71 total yards.
Despite the interception, Stick had a solid game completing 17-27 passes for 194 yards with two touchdowns including this strike to RJ Urzendowski.
Stick was 8-0 as a starter previous year when, as a redshirt freshman, he was pressed into duty when Wentz was injured after North Dakota State’s 4-2 start.
“It was awesome by our team”, CSU head coach Jamey Chadwell said.
Smoak’s 46-yarder gave the Buccaneers a 3-0 lead with 9:44 left in the first half. Kicker Tyler Tekac was wide right with a 36-yard field goal try.
NDSU wins 24-17 in the first ever overtime game inside the Fargodome and first overtime game since 2010 against Eastern Washington. Mike Holloway rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries. His 47-yarder on an option pitch with 13:07 left in the third quarter gave the Buccaneers a 10-3 lead. His 6-yard run tied it at 17 with 2:59 left.
Charleston Southern quarterback Kyle Copeland completed 8 of 20 passes for 94 yards and one interception.
But NDSU responded on its next drive to score its first touchdown of the game.
The Buccaneers missed a 51-yard game winning field goal from Smoak a couple plays later, which forced the game into overtime.
Holloway and the Buccaneers offense would not go away late in the fourth quarter. “We knew they were a tough team going in”, said linebacker MJ Stumpf.
Dimitri Williams fumbled the football after making a reception on the boundary for NDSU and the Buccaneers recovered the football at the 29-yard line of NDSU.
Defenses dominated the first half.
