Huawei-Made Nexus To Feature USB Type-C And A Fingerprint Sensor

The Nexus 6 drew a lot of flak for its size and price; and now Google has reportedly commissioned LG (and Huawei?) to come up with a new handset once the current device hits its one-year lifecycle.

For starters, Google is widely expected to release two flagships for 2015, one 5.2-incher manufactured by LG, and a 5.7-incher courtesy of Huawei. This 5.7-inch phone should be a natural successor to last year’s Nexus 6.

“The Huawei Nexus will have 5.7” screen in a (more certainly) metal body with front-facing speakers again.

Another day, another set of rumors/leaks regarding Google’s next-gen Nexus smartphones. Those are pretty basic, though we’re sure to learn of a party trick or two aside from vanilla Android M that could help sell the device. Today, the Note 5 will be officially announced, but Steve Hemmerstoffer has revealed some of the killer features of both the Google Nexus 2015 smartphones. And you know how Google is when it comes to “Easter egg”-style sightings”. Other rumors are that it will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 620 processor, up to 4 GB of DDR3 RAM, USB Type-C with Quickcharge 2.0, up to 64 GB of storage, a 3180 mAh battery, a MediaTek connectivity chipset, front-facing speakers, and a rear power button with an integrated fingerprint scanner. It’ll also be coming with a metal body in all likelihood, given that plastic and other materials have started to disappear slowly from the Android world these days. According to some earlier reports, the upcoming device will feature an advanced fingerprint sensor which will be used to make payments via the Android Pay service.

Nexus 5 will own a 5.3 inch screen with HD resolution of 1440×2560 pixels but the display will measure no 5.2 inches, with full HD resolution. In many ways, the Nexus 6 was too big with its 6-inch display. BGR India are reporting that a source “who has seen the Huawei Nexus” has told them that the device contains a single PCB board supporting all bands.
