A BMW each to Olympics silver medallist shuttler PV Sindhu, her coach Pullela Gopichand, bronze medallist wrestler Sakshi Malik and also gymnast Dipa Karmakar, who finished fourth, were handed over at Hyderabad’s Gopichand Academy in the presence of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who was one of India’s Goodwill ambassador of the Indian team at the Rio Olympics. “I knew, during Rio I saw such was the focus”, Tendulkar said. It would not be wrong to state that Dipa played an important role in placing India on the global map of gymnastics with her performance in Rio. Over the years, last time (during last Olympics) we had a bronze (Saina Nehwal).
Sachin Tendulkar also posted a photo of himself with the Olympic champions.
Sachin Tendulkar marked his present in the event and he was the one who handed over the keys of the vehicle to these four phenomenal people who made us ground in Brazil at Rio Olympics.
