Front-runners Clinton, Trump head to Iowa fair

I have done enough personal research to wave you away from the deep fried Twinkies, Snickers and, yes of course, butter. It’s in the garage. “Forgot to bring it”.

According to Annah Backstorm, the Des Moines Register’s content strategist for politics, “The caucuses are about face-to-face campaigning, and you’re going to get the biggest audience possible by walking around the fairgrounds”.

The latest CNN/ORC Polls show the billionaire leading the field in Iowa.

He has not always agreed with the centrist, free-trade Democratic politics advanced by former president Bill Clinton and by Hillary Clinton.

Harkin retired from the Senate this year after having a prominent presence for over 30 years. Harkin formally endorsed Clinton for president Thursday. Tom Harkin. Everywhere she went, crowds sought to snap a photograph, a handshake or a quick hello with the Democratic presidential front-runner. “I know Hillary Clinton will be that champion”. The Iowa Democrat sought to help his daughter land a job with the Office of War Crimes, part of the State Department’s Office of Global Criminal Justice, which the email described as “very small with a limited number of slots”.

Romney responded: “No, no, no, I came here to speak, and you’ll get to ask your question”.

Clinton and Harkin, standing under a tree near the fair’s livestock show ring, then answered questions from a throng of surrounding media.

Clinton also visited the Iowa State Fair Saturday, although she did not give a speech at the soapbox.

“We’ll see how this all plays out, but it’s not anything that people talk to me about as I travel around the country”, Clinton said.

“We will keep confronting (Iran) on human rights and terrorism, and, make no mistakes, we will never allow (Iran) to acquire a nuclear weapon”, she said.

“Between me and Ryan Keller, we’ve got enough political hacks”, Laudner said with a laugh, referring to Trump’s deputy Iowa director.

When the pack reached Grand Avenue, the fair’s main drag, Trump’s helicopter buzzed overhead as Clinton walked past stands selling funnel cakes, corn brats and lemonade.

The difference, he said, is that Trump has the resources to take the same conservative message of a candidate like Santorum and actually produce results.

Clinton, Trump and Sanders are among the slew of 19 Republican and Democratic candidates scheduled at the fair through August. 22, eyeing farm animals, grilled meat, music and games for an opportunity to meander around the event and chat up the people who will be casting the election’s first ballots in the nation February 1. “I think it may be one of the dumbest statements I’ve ever heard”.

After landing by chopper in a nearby lot, Trump invited some children to take a ride in the helicopter and spoke to reporters before riding a golf cart to the entrance of the fair.
