Nearly half of all year 11 students achieved more than the nationally-expected level of progress in these two subjects.

Over 85 per cent of the pupils achieved an A*-C grade in English while 78 per cent got an A*-C grade in both English and maths.

“We have 11 students who have received full scholarships to independent boarding schools to study A-levels due to their exceptional results”, she said.
William Bradford Academy’s last-ever group of students to receive their GCSE results are celebrating after scoring grade successes once again.
Principal Sarah Pringle said:”We are all very pleased to be celebrating a significant improvement in our results today”.
“I’m really happy, I’ve done so much better than I expected”, she told the Gazette.
EAGER students started to queue outside the hall entrance at John of Gaunt to collect their GCSE results this morning. “I had been hoping for straight As, but I’m happy with the result”.
Nationally, there is now more emphasis on pupils achieving the English Baccalaureate.
Headteacher Simon Ellis said: “We knew the pupils were good but I have to say they’ve smashed all previous school records and their performance will be one of the best in Wales”.
“We wish all the students every success in the future as they make decisions over future training, education and employment”. “I am now looking forward to continuing at Wellingborough School to study Biology, Chemistry and Latin at A-Level”.
