Mourinho surprised at no Bayern Schweinsteiger approach

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that it will be “very difficult” for Bastian Schweinsteiger to play for the club this season.

However, according to the Daily Telegraph, Mata and Mourinho have reached an agreement of sorts at United, with the player understanding that he will not be one of the first names on the team sheet throughout the campaign.

That limits his options given that the transfer windows in China and the United States are closed until the new year.

“I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m saying its very hard because we have made a decision made about Pogba, Herrera, Schneiderlin, Fellaini and Carrick, we have five players for two positions, so it’s very hard for an opportunity to arise”.

“It’s hard but if [Juan] Mata is on the bench, you tell me I want to kick him out and want to sell him, ” Mourinho said.

However, Mourinho didnÆt rule out the GermanÆs chances completely saying, oI’m not saying it’s impossible. But I think it is very hard for him (to play).

“We have a decision completely made about (Paul) Pogba, (Ander) Herrera, (Morgan) Schneiderlin, (Marouane) Fellaini and Michael Carrick (Schweinsteiger’s fellow central midfielders). If we can do that, I’m sure we can have a very good season”.

I have spoken to him about it. I am not in a rush to play him to show the world how good he is. It is his life and career he has right to make that decision and that is not a problem for us. He has a contract with Manchester United and has chose to stay. It’s not a problem for us.

“I thought after I read some quotes from people at Bayern Munich that they would run to Manchester to bring him (Schweinsteiger) back, but no, that did not happen. I am quite surprised that Mr Rummennigge is not here”.

“I love Andreas Pereira, I’d love to have him in my squad but he’s going to Granada to play”.

Mourinho was confirmed as Louis van Gaal’s replacement in July following months of intense speculation, but former Spurs player Jermaine Jenas insists it was Pochettino who the United hierarchy most coveted. “These are the decisions that every club does”. The Armenian, the first to ever play for United, has made three appearances, all from the bench in the FA Community Shield in the 2-1 victory over Leicester City, the 3-1 victory over Bournemouth and the 2-0 victory over Southampton.

“Marcus will play a lot”, said Mourinho.

“We didn’t buy more strikers”.

“Zlatan is playing and is showing why, and Marcus is our striker number two at the moment. For an 18-year-old boy, he is awesome”.

Bastian Schweinsteiger doesn’t look like ever playing the Manchester United first team again, and for that reason he’s seemingly won the lottery.

Mourinho also welcomed a Europa League group-stage draw that pitted his team against Dutch side Feyenoord, Turkish giants Fenerbahce and Ukrainian side Zorya Luhansk.
