Palermo are raising their wage proposal to Mario Balotelli, but giving the Liverpool striker only 24 hours to make a decision.
Palermo’s sporting director, Guglielmo Micciche, spoke quite candidly of the possibility of signing the Italian striker.
The Sicilians confirmed they have made an offer to take SuperMario on loan and that he is enthusiastic about the idea.
“I called (agent Mino) Raiola and he passed the phone over to Balotelli”, he told the Corriere dello Sport. “It would be a great coup for president Maurizio Zamparini, a gift for all of the fans”, he said.
“He was born in Palermo and we consider him a citizen of Palermo”.
However, the move is in doubt with Palermo only able to offer the player – who spent last season on loan at AC Milan – a deal worth €700,000 a season, while Balo now earns €5.8m a campaign at Anfield.
Palermo have reportedly made an offer for out-of-favour Liverpool star Mario Balotelli in an attempt to bolster their attacking options.

Having failed to impress AC Milan enough last season to warrant a permanent return to the San Siro, the Italian global will be desperate to put his injury woes and disciplinary issues behind him and get back to playing at the level that many believe he is still capable of reaching. “It’s a very hard operation, but we’re trying”.
