Want Lunch With Bill Clinton? It`ll Cost Ya!

Former President Bill Clinton said last week that if she is elected president, the foundation will no longer accept foreign or corporate donations.

Neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton has taken one dime in salary from the foundation.

If Clinton controls the Justice Department, calls for a special prosecutor will be resisted, but only until public demand becomes too great.

Clinton’s campaign said the AP analysis was flawed: “It is outrageous to misrepresent Secretary Clinton’s basis for meeting with these individuals”, spokesman Brian Fallon said.

Why did Hillary Clinton give unprecedented preferential treatment to Clinton Foundation donors while serving as the nation’s top diplomat? Clinton said the foundation would no longer hold annual meetings of its worldwide aid program, the Clinton Global Initiative, and it would spin off its foreign-based programs to other charities.

Bill Clinton said changes at the foundation are needed if Hillary Clinton becomes president that weren’t necessary when she led the State Department.

That’s why you can have Donald Trump claiming, in January, that his donation to the Clinton Foundation was misused, and have his campaign manager praising the foundation’s good works over and over this week.

Seven months after a federal judge ordered the State Department to begin releasing monthly batches of the detailed daily schedules showing meetings by Hillary Clinton during her time as secretary of state, the government told The Associated Press it won’t finish the job before Election Day.

Not true: As the article stated, what the AP found was that “more than half the people outside the government” who met with Clinton while she was secretary of state “gave money – either personally or through companies or groups – to the Clinton Foundation”.

Missing emails are being unearthed at State, through Freedom of Information Act requests, that are filling out the picture Clinton thought had been blotted out when her 33,000 “private” emails were erased by her lawyers.

Aware of how things may look bad – while insisting nothing unethical has transpired – Mr Clinton said that if his wife were to win, he would step down from the foundation’s board and stop all fundraising for it.

“Hillary Clinton is totally unfit to hold public office”, he said at a rally on August 23 in Austin, Texas. Combined, the 85 donors contributed as much as $156 million.

On MSNBC, Clinton didn’t call Trump a bigot herself but instead listed reasons on why she believes he is bigoted.

He described how Clinton Foundation officials would compel him to fill his panels with heads of state of foreign governments who were promised a slot but “literally have nothing to say”. They simply reported who met with Clinton and why.

On Wednesday, Bill Clinton said he’s proud of people who have donated to the Clinton Foundation and the work the organization has done. “If you donated to the Clinton Foundation or paid massive speaking fees to Bill, you got an entry to the Department of State”.

Yet the frequency of the overlaps shows the mixing of access and donations. In 2009, Hillary Clinton set up an office within the State Department that mirrored the Clinton Global Initiative and raised money for the American pavilion at the world’s fair in Shanghai, as my co-author, Amie Parnes, and I wrote in our book “HRC: State Secrets and the Rebirth of Hillary Clinton”.

The Clinton Foundation did, however, fail to uphold a number of the promises it made to the Obama administration concerning transparency.

In the ensuing exchange, Wallace questioned whether the Clinton campaign’s practice to insulate the former secretary of state from any unscripted and unmoderated Q&A sessions with the press would work against Clinton in her efforts to deal with the “perception problem on the question of honesty and trustworthiness”.
