Death of NBA Star’s Cousin Turned Into Cheap Politics
Chicago police were questioning two people on Saturday in connection with the shooting death of a cousin of Chicago Bull Dwyane Wade as they looked into the possibility that the stray bullet that killed her was sacked during a robbery attempt, authorities said.

Three men are being questioned as persons of interest in the shooting, according to police.
Both brothers were on parole, said Chicago Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi on Twitter on Sunday morning.
Wade, who was raised in Chicago and recently signed with the Chicago Bulls following 13 years with the Miami Heat, has been an advocate for gun violence awareness.
On Saturday, Wade posted about Chicago needing more help to combat the violence.
Wade’s cousin, Nykea Aldridge, was pushing a stroller down a South Side Chicago street when two men starting shooting at each other.
And yet, when Aldridge was killed in Chicago, Trump rushed to scoop up the black vote by tweeting, “Dwayne Wade’s cousin was just shot and killed walking her baby in Chicago”.
Nykea Aldridge, 32 was shot and killed Friday afternoon while pushing a baby in a stroller on Chicago’s South Side. One of the most unsafe cities in the world, Chicago, at the time of this writing is 30 deaths away from matching its 2015 number of gun violence deaths.
“My condolences to Dwyane Wade and his family, on the loss of Nykea Aldridge”, Trump tweeted later Saturday. She was shot in the arm and head and died after being taken to the hospital. Johnson said the Sorell brothers are repeat offenders and two of about 1,400 individuals who drive the gun violence in the city of Chicago.
“My cousin was killed today in Chicago”.
Dwyane Wade has been an outspoken critic of rampant gun violence and took the stage at this year’s ESPY Awards with fellow National Basketball Association superstars LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul to speak about the issue.
It is not the first time Dwyane Wade’s family in Chicago has been affected by gun violence.
On Saturday, Trump was criticized for using the tragedy as opportunity to reach out to African-American voters with some viewing it as an insensitive tweet.

“I just brought out the teddy bears to represent, you know, the children, and their memories, and the love of their mom”, said Linda Taylor, who lives near the scene of the shooting.
