A Reuters/Ipsos States of the Nation poll for the week beginning August 15 found Clinton beating Trump among Hispanic voters by 15 percentage points, and by 57 percentage points among black voters.

Marc Morial, the president of the National Urban League, agreed, telling The Times: “Black America has deep problems. but black America also has a large community of striving, successful, hard-working people: college educated, in the work force”.
Jennifer Hochschild, a professor at Harvard University who focuses on race and immigration, said she did not think Trump could fix his relationship with black and Hispanic voters.
“A man with a long history of racial discrimination, who traffics in dark conspiracy theories drawn from the pages of supermarket tabloids and the far reaches of the internet, should never run our government or command our military”, Clinton said.

The incident permitted Trump to bring up again his desire to be a “law and order” president and underscore his drive to appeal to African-American voters who traditionally vote Democratic and overwhelmingly support Democratic rival Hillary Clinton.

Many black leaders and voters have dismissed Trump’s message – delivered to predominantly white rally audiences – as condescending and intended more to reassure undecided white voters that he’s not racist, than to actually help minority communities.
When by a reporter asked if he thinks Trump is a racist, Kaine said he didn’t know Trump.
