Pence: Trump is ‘a CEO at work’ on immigration
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Saturday said he will launch a crackdown on illegal immigrants and start deporting them immediately if elected to power, reported AFP. He added that Trump will “articulate what we do with the people here”, assuring that “Donald Trump is more concerned about the American people, American citizens, people who are here legally, people who are struggling in this economy”.

When repeatedly pressed by CNN host Jake Tapper over whether Trump still supported a so-called deportation force, Pence said it was more of a “mechanism, not a policy”.
Pence appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union”, Priebus was on NBC’s “Meet the Press”, Christie was interviewed on ABC’s “This Week” and Conway was on Fox and CBS’ “Face the Nation”. Trump said, “Every time an African-American citizen, or any citizen, loses their job to an illegal immigrant, the rights of that American citizen have been violated”.
“We all learned in kindergarten to stand in line and wait our turn, and he is not talking about a deportation force”, she said. “And this is not a simple question”, said Reince Priebus, the Republican National Committee chairman who’s had a hard relationship with Trump.
Details of Trump’s immigration policies remain scant.
“But my priority is the well-being of 300 million American citizens, including millions of Hispanic citizens and legal residents who want a secure border, a safe and drug-free community, and a growing economy”.
He also polished Trump’s accusation that President Obama and Hillary Clinton were the founders of ISIS by stating that they merely created “a vacuum in which ISIS was able to be conjured” by prematurely withdrawing the troops from the region.
Trump is running neck and neck with Clinton in polls in the state with 72 days until the November 8 election. The first presidential debate is set for September 26. “When they come back, then they can resume paying taxes, but they cannot be legalized unless they leave and then come back”.
The question of how to handle those immigrants has dogged Trump this week after he suggested he might let some of them stay in the country – and was swiftly criticized by hardcore conservatives who accused him of abandoning his pledge to deport all undocumented immigrants.
The incident permitted Mr Trump to bring up again his desire to be a “law and order” president and underscore his drive to appeal to African-American voters who traditionally vote Democratic.
Pence gets points for distraction technique, but taken as a whole in terms of Trump responses, it’s clear the campaign has messaging problems. “We send our thoughts and our prayers to the family, and we also promise to fight for a much, much better tomorrow”.
Asked whether the initial tweet was presidential or appropriate, GOP officials and campaign advisers instead talked about reducing crime or said they were pleased Trump followed up with a tweet of condolence and empathy.
