“The first half was all Arsenal but the second half was all for us”.

“Especially in the first half”.

On nine minutes Arsenal were awarded a penalty when Alexis Sanchez was bundled over by Nordin Amrabat.

Wenger believes that they will only get better after the global break when they return to optimum physical levels and will be able to bridge the five-point gap at the top of the league, with Chelsea and Manchester United having chalked up wins in their first three games. Firstly Alexis Sanchez bundled home a Walcott cross to make it 2-0, before Özil headed in a third right on half-time after linking up with Sanchez once more.

The Gunners opened the new league campaign with a disappointing 4-3 loss at home to Liverpool, before holding last term’s surprise champions Leicester City to a 0-0 draw at King Power Stadium. Watford followers will hope their side can take an inspired second half display into their upcoming matches, beginning with a game against West Ham after the global break.

There is no denying that Ozil does need to add more goals to his tally to given the important role he plays in the team.

So, they will also try to kickstart their season with a win this weekend and so, we can easily expect a neck to neck fight for this game.

Mazzarri, who arrived in the summer, has spent the last two weeks reinforcing his team, bringing in forward Roberto Pereyra from Juventus, Younes Kaboul from Sunderland and fellow defender Daryl Janmaat from Newcastle.

“We want to win the title, there is no hiding … that and we will do our best”.

“Today we had a good solid performance but at the moment we are not completely there physically and you could see that in second half”.

“He’s a great player, we have a lot of players in this position, great players like Coquelin, Elneny, Jack Wilshere. The organisational things are still missing and two starting players were out last minute and this really didn’t help”.

“I am very pleased, I think we had an excellent first half at Watford”.

The hosts were starting to create more and defender Christian Kabasele nearly marked his Premier League debut with a goal but could only glance Etienne Capoue’s corner wide of the post.
