Vikings announce new stadium sells out for inaugural season

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said last week that if Peterson wanted to play, he would be receptive.

Zimmer said a few players told him the surface was fine.

On the field, Zimmer lauded the play of Bridgewater, was pleased to see the Vikings run for 122 yards, and generally liked the play of the defense.

Not playing in the preseason also delays Peterson getting comfortable in a game behind a retooled offensive line. “Every time I go out there, whether it’s in the meeting room, practice field or in a game, I’m taking something away from it”.

MINNEAPOLIS-Teddy Bridgewater gave the fans at U.S. Bank Stadium plenty to cheer about and then he turned into a cheerleader.

The Vikings kept their first-team offense in for most of the first half on Thursday night in Seattle, sitting Bridgewater because of what Zimmer called a coach’s decision and holding out Adrian Peterson, who hasn’t played the preseason since 2013 and hasn’t recorded a carry since 2011. You get to encase all the noise, and the fans are passionate about football here. “I just chose to wait until the games count”.

After seeing action in four exhibition games in 2015, Bridgewater might get into only two this time since key starters aren’t likely to play in the September 1 finale.

Minnesota is expecting big things from Bridgewater after he put up a less-than-stellar 2015 campaign.

“I just really thought about it and didn’t feel like it was the best thing in my interest, knowing that I can be ready for the first week against Tennessee, like I’ve done a thousand times in the past”. It came after Rudolph had lost a fumble earlier in the second quarter at the San Diego 45, a play he said he battled two defenders unnecessarily in an attempt to get extra yards.

Bridgewater wasn’t too accurate on the deep ball he threw Wednesday, but that it was drawn up indicated he is making strides.
