Harvick rolls to win in rain-delayed Bristol race
Substitute driver, Jeff Gordon, for the No. 88 of Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished in his final race at Bristol in 11 and Tony Stewart, also in his last race at the track finishes in 30. “The way that our auto was restarting it felt comfortable, it felt good”. Denny Hamlin, Austin Dillon and rookie Chris Buescher rounded out the top five. “I tell you what, my butt’s kicked right now. I’m really exhausted of losing races here with [parts failures]”. Keselowski detailed their rocky relationship on and off track in a blog past year. “I tried to make up for it and got loose”. “But to have the win now and just try to get that momentum before we get into the Chase and get things rolling is really what we needed”.

“We kept working our way up towards the end and got to the top five, and nearly got one there at the end, but I love Bristol”.
“It’s a shame”, Busch said.
The Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race – which became a day race, then was delayed so long Sunday that it became a night race again by the end – saw Kyle Busch lead 256 laps before being knocked out of the race in a crash.
“I’m racing like I’m in the playoffs right now, for sure”, Dillon said. It’s something we have to address and fix. I told myself the last 10 laps we weren’t racing anybody, there wasn’t anybody around us, I said, just enjoy these last 10 and just savor the moment and think about it.
“The person that’s really biggest moron out there is the spotter of the 46 and the driver of the 46”, Ky.
Harvick won a race very much of attrition, then invited his boss, retiring driver Tony Stewart, to join him driving celebratory doughnuts in celebration. Larson also was involved for the second straight incident in a handful of laps.
Nine cautions slowed the race for 106 laps. He had raced his way back toward the front before being collected in two on-track incidents.
GORDON’S FINISH: Jeff Gordon wound up 11th, his best showing in the four races he’s run in the No. 88 vehicle replacing injured Dale Earnhardt Jr. “I just won’t wear a helmet when I come back here”, Stewart said. Allgaier was subbing in the No. 46 Chevy for Michael Annett, who sat out the race because of flu-like symptoms.
Mikhail Aleshin, the first Russian-born driver to win an IndyCar pole, will lead the field to green when the race begins. Track officials applied a substance to help bring in the lower line that created an additional groove earlier in the week during the Camping World Truck Series and XFINITY Series races. “That’s life. I just want to win this race”.

It was scheduled to resume at 1 p.m. on Sunday, but more rain throughout the day delayed the start until late afternoon.
