Conte was once again animated on the touchline as Chelsea staged their comeback following Etienne Capoue’s strike for Watford, with Batshuayi scoring from the bench and another substitute, Cesc Fabregas, playing Costa in behind for the victor.

Conte said: “It was a good impact from the substitutes but it was the same against West Ham”.

“I feel good because I saw the right commitment, the right spirit from my team”, he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

The Italian tactician has seen his side make an impressive start to the campaign, securing back-to-back wins to start his tenure and they sit with maximum points after two games.

Diego Costa popped up to score with mere minutes left on the clock, poking the ball through the legs of Heurelho Gomes to seal the London club’s second consecutive Premier League win.

“I am happy for how we played for 70-80 minutes because we played very well but I am not happy with the result”, Mazzarri said. “It’s a good family and a good team”. “We try to win all the games like he wants”.

Antonio Conte has defended under-fire striker Diego Costa, urging the player to ignore the criticism he has received and to focus only on scoring more goals for Chelsea.

“It’s always hard to come back but we did great”, the Belgium global told Chelsea’s official website. I thought we were excellent in the first-half, and restricted them to very little. Both goals were from our mistakes. So, tonight, I’m not going to sleep very well.

A change in formation helped the Blues ramp up the pressure on their hosts and dominate the final 20 minutes, and two defensive lapses helped them clutch victory from the jaws of defeat.
