Tony Romo begins rehab with ‘no timetable’ for his return

“We’ve been given a lot of timetables”, he told reporters in a Sunday morning press conference. I think a lot of other people outside of this building have suggested they know what the timetable is. While they have struggled to find a skilled backup in recent years, turning to retreads like Matt Cassel and Brandon Weeden in the process, they finally have a young budding star in Mississippi State’s Dak Prescott. He’s now backed up by Jamiell Showers, though the Cowboys could well add QB depth in the coming days. The cowboys say the bone Romo broke this time is not the same bone he broke in 2014.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is being fit for a back brace and rookie fourth-round pick Dak Prescott is preparing not only preparing to start opening day but for at least the first six weeks of the season. Romo left the game after the play.

“We’re going to monitor his condition day by day and we’ll see how he feels going forward”, Garrett said. Then came the preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, where Romo was scrambling out of the pocket and tackled awkwardly by Seahawks defensive end Cliff Avril.

“He’s just going to start getting into rehab and part of his rehab is he’s going to be wearing a back brace for now”, Garrett said. Garrett said the injury is not related to the surgeries Romo had in 2013.

“I think the biggest thing for all of us is focus on doing our jobs”.

“Adversity is a part of the game”, said Garrett. I think Tony Romo should retire to keep from doing more damage to his body, do you agree? However, the Rams have named Case Keenum as their eventual starter and the quarterback situation is all but figured out; so who has really impressed this preseason? He’s a very prepared guy. He wants to take full advantage of the opportunities he gets on the practice field and in games. He works very hard at it.
