Wednesday Speech Could Clarify Donald Trump’s Immigration Policy

Trump’s immigration policy received renewed scrutiny recently after he seemingly softened his stance on how to treat undocumented immigrants and then reaffirmed his support for deporting them.

“The whole question of anchor babies, as it’s known, the whole question of citizenship, of natural-born Americans is a subject for the future”, Pence said. Clinton, a former secretary of state, has led real estate developer Trump in the poll since Democrats and Republicans ended their national conventions and formally nominated their presidential candidates in July. Pence also did not answer whether the campaign believes, as Trump has said, that children born to people who are in the US illegally are not USA citizens.

That stance drew fire from conservatives who wanted him to stand fast after he won the Republican presidential nomination in large part by a hardline stance that would include building a wall along the US border with Mexico.

Trump was set to deliver a major speech on illegal immigration last week, but his campaign made a decision to postpone the address as it continues to craft its policy and the language to deliver it.

And they didn’t bother defending his response Saturday to the killing of a mother as she walked her baby on a Chicago street.

“With Hillary Clinton off the campaign trail yet again this week and continuing to take many communities’ votes for granted, we see this as the right time to show voters the benefits of an American economy under the leadership of Mr. Trump”, he added.

“There is a very good chance the answer could be yes”, Trump said when asked if he would deport those who have lived here peacefully but without papers.

Trump said his first priority upon taking office next January would be the immediate deportation of thousands of illegal immigrants who remain in the United States despite having committed crimes. He has said if you want to be here legally, you have to apply to be here legally.

“He has also said that for those 11 million – if that is in fact the number – he wants to address that issue humanely and fairly”.

“We all learned in kindergarten to stand in line and wait our turn, and he is not talking about a deportation force”, she said. Just what I have been saying.

Recent polls indicate Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton is ahead in some of the most competitive and pivotal states.

The next day, he ruled out legal status, “unless they leave the country and come back”, he told CNN.

As he did earlier on Twitter, Trump seized on the shooting death in Chicago on Friday of Nykea Aldridge, 32, a cousin of NBA basketball star Dwyane Wade. “We send our thoughts and our prayers to the family, and we also promise to fight for a much, much better tomorrow”. Gov. Christie criticized Clinton for “calling Trump those types of names”, but he didn’t say that what the Democratic nominee said wasn’t true. Trump has a proven record of discrimination against African-Americans and Puerto Ricans in NY. He said the killing of someone pushing a stroller “is unacceptable in an American city” and that “the level of violence in Chicago is unacceptable”.
