Eden Hazard thinks Antonio Conte’s playing past can help current Chelsea players

Burnley secured their first win since promotion back to the Premier League with a surprise 2-0 win over Liverpool last weekend – their first league victory over the Merseyside club for 42 years.

Eden Hazard inspired Chelsea to a thumping 3-0 win over Burnley to maintain their flawless start to the season. “He is an important young player with great improvements that he can make in the future”.

Given that “Chelsea” will still be playing on home ground, and the coach of this team is Antonio Conte, who knows how to adjust their charges on any rivals, the chances of “Burnley” little.

He opened the scoring after only nine minutes, racing all the way from the half-way line before sending a slide-rule shot into the far corner of the net from 20 yards.

Watching Hazard in action against Burnley it was hard to even compare him to the player who under-achieved so badly last season. When we start in this way you can work better, and also the players can trust the work more.

England manager Sam Allardyce recently said he would be open to hold talks with John Terry over a possible return to worldwide football, and Conte said it would not be right for him to interfere in the situation. “They are very solid in defensive situations and they are always waiting to go on the counter-attack with two very good forwards”.

Opta tell us Chelsea have beaten Burnley in three of their four Premier League meetings (the other was a draw) and that they’ve lost just once at home in 45 matches to newly-promoted sides. “I see a lot of positive things about this, but I want to say that despite three wins [in the Premier League] we can, and we must, improve a lot because it’s important to continue to work and to build something of importance”.

“We have started very well this season but we must know we can improve”.

The former Juventus boss added: “I’m working with these players”.

“It’s important to score the goal, it’s important to score one more goal than the opponent, but to keep the clean sheet is important for the confidence for the whole team”. Burnley manager Sean Dyche also sang Hazard’s praises and wished he had him in his squad. “It s not done, but it s looking that way”, Dyche said.
