Giggs warns Mourinho: United fans want title win with style

As a manager I am really young, and I think I have the best years of my career to come up. I’m happy for the team, two games, two wins. Ibrahimovic, who was making his home debut, scored a 36th-minute header and a 52nd-minute penalty to take his tally to three.

“The first ball, I lost it, but got used to it”.

The Belgian is slowly becoming one of the manager’s favourites after being handed a start in both the games thus far this campaign. “Not only on the physical part so we’re happy, we’re happy for the three points and the first game at home also, we need to settle in – the rest will come by itself”. The midfielder went on to say that he is “happy for the win” and hopes to “carry on like this” as the team try and build some momentum this season as winning is “all we can do”. “Everything is new, it’s like a big puzzle and we need to put the puzzle together and then we work through everything”. “That is all we can do”.

As pleasing to Mourinho was the way Pogba slotted into the side in his first appearance since a world-record United States dollars 116 million transfer, displaying his range of tricks, vision, athleticism and box-to-box energy. Marouane Fellaini was so good. “The crowd was magnificent”.

“Maybe a simple phone call can make a difference”, said Mourinho.

“A player that was feeling he was not loved”.

“Maybe a simple phone call the day after my presentation as manager changed a lot because I told him, forget everything you read”.

“I think the biggest compliment I can give him is that I was watching that game and watching Paul Pogba and I wasn’t thinking of £89m”.

“That’s what I’m saying, I need September because the relation can be good, the players can be good professionals, they can feel I trust all of them, but when a player doesn’t play one, two, three games, the frustration comes and it is hard to play well”, he explained.

When asked what role he had specifically designated Pogba, Mourinho coyly replied: “I don’t know what you mean”.

Fellaini started alongside debutant Paul Pogba in midfield, and although the world’s most expensive player stole the headlines, Matt Stead feels that his partner, as well as two others who had been consigned to the United exit, deserve credit. He’s playing well, with (Michael) Carrick, with (Ander) Herrera, with Paul.
