It’s been nearly a year since the first Surface Book launched, and many concluded Microsoft was planning a new model for the end of 2017.

The release of the original Surface 2-in-1 tablet-laptop, the Microsoft Surface Book, was able to answer the majority of the needs of businessmen and power users, which is why it had experienced some relative success in the market.
The new device is said to come with a more traditional hinge that will allow the screen to sit flush with the keyboard once the notebook is closed. The company is expected to unveil its brand new Surface Book 2 next year, but this early teaser campaign could be an indication that the company is ready to unveil it a little sooner.
The official Surface Instagram account today posted the above image few hours back. Word is that the image of the new Surface comes from an internal Microsoft video meant to be seen inside the company showing some ideas in store for the new Surface Book. If you’re going to be paying a lot of money for the upcoming Surface Book 2, then you might as well get the best of everything from it right? While the shot of the Surface Book 2 is clearly black and it has been confirmed that internal prototypes are black, it’s unclear if this will be a new color option along with the silver/magnesium color that is available now.
Although the final design may have some changes for the launch of the Surface Book 2, this teaser image released is in agreement with previous rumors that Microsoft might be redesigning the hinge system, in order to reduce the gap between the keyboard and display when the device is shut.
