Wenger expects to seal deals for Mustafi and Perez
Arsene Wenger has been forced to defend his transfer policy after his side failed to win either of their opening Premier League games against Liverpool and Leicester. “I am 99 percent confident”.

Perez scored 17 goals and provided eight assists as Deportivo finished 15th in LaLiga last season.
The duo were in London on Friday to undergo medicals which have now been completed with just the final paperwork to be concluded before the deals can be ratified.
Fans of the club have even gone as far as holding up banners at the Emirates Stadium suggesting Arsenal should seek a new manager. “I think he has good link up qualities, good quality of receptions, good finishing qualities”.
Should both players complete their transfers, Arsenal’s spending for the close season will be close to 110 million euros.
“Last night it was told to me that it was pretty much a done deal that Arsenal were going to beat Everton [to Perez]”. The season is very long and you can see with all the money in the league, that every team can sign good players. Asked if Chambers’s Arsenal future could be affected by Mustafi’s arrival, Wenger replied: “Future? No”.
“They hadn’t settled on Paco Alcacer from Valencia until they exhausted their chances of buying Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna”.
“I believe that he’s a bit of a victim of the size of the squad”, the Frenchman said. “We have a requested number, and we can’t have any more players any way”. “I don’t rule out that he comes back here and plays”.

Manchester United signed Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic for free on the transfer market this summer. But Wenger said he has flourished after being converted to a striker late in his career. Not a lot has happened. It looks like when you come out with an English passport that you are hit with prices that are very hard to understand compared to the quality of the players. And that everybody sat on his pounds until now. “We have shot ourselves in our foot, you know, so we have to respond quickly, when you look at other teams they make points already”.
