The latest installment of the Paxton Lynch Progress Report with the Denver Broncos has less to do with the former Memphis Tiger than it does with competition for quarterback of the Super Bowl Champions. He may be inexperienced as a starting quarterback, but is more experienced than Lynch. Should he fail to make the final 53-man roster, the Broncos would face a cap charge of $1 million of that but retain a conditional draft pick that was offered to Philadelphia in the March trade. Anderson ripped off a 19-yard touchdown run last week, showing that he possesses the explosiveness to live up to his four-year, $18 million contract extension. I think I’ve continued to tell you guys that he is behind the others from a knowledge standpoint as far as running the group. Though he still needs a bit of pro seasoning, he clearly has the highest upside of the group.

“I’m impressed”, Kubiak said. I think he’s very confident in what he’s doing and I think he has confidence in us to do what he does best.
Sanchez, meanwhile, has shown that he has virtually no upside.
Getting Quinn back completes a defensive front as good as any in the NFL. After playing effectively the first two preseason games against the Dallas Cowboys and Kansas City Chiefs, the Rams wanted to carry that momentum into Denver in what they considered a bit of a litmus test.
Ware teamed with fellow linebacker Von Miller to anchor a stingy Denver defense last season that got better in the playoffs. Though he didn’t produce a breathtaking performance, Siemian was solid against a stout Rams defense.
Trevor Siemian started for Denver Saturday night against the Rams and finished with 10 of 17 passes completed and one touchdown throw. He has to continue to make plays every game if he hopes to have a chance at making the team.
Siemian came out with the first unit for the first half, and made some really nice plays. If so, Siemian seems to have passed. The smart money is on T.J. Yates, a free-agent signal caller who played under Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak with the Texans. If Siemian completely implodes against the Rams, however, the Broncos may be forced to throw Lynch to the wolves.
The Rams took a two field goal lead on the kicking of Greg Zuerlein to take a 6-0 lead before the Broncos drove 72 yards for a touchdown.
While both Manning and Osweiler had their bright spots in 2015, neither was consistently good.
But just two days after Manning’s retirement became official, Osweiler chose to head for the Lone Star state, signing a four-year contract with the Houston Texans and turning his back on the first four years of his career when he learned the National Football League ropes as an understudy to one of the game’s greatest.
If this were to push through, one of the other quarterbacks now with the Broncos may see his way out, and Denver will hope that their gamble for Vick works out. He scored 10 TDs last season, tied with Gurley for most on the team. I’ll go back and watch the game and clean up some things.

The question now might become whether or not the Broncos even keep Sanchez on the roster. The team also drafted Paxton Lynch in the first-round of the NFL Draft this spring but aren’t ready to give him the reigns.
