Detroit pastor to interview Trump on Christian TV show

According to Impact Network, an African American founded Christian television network, the goal of the interview is to get real answers from Trump and understand his views on policies that affect the Detroit community.

“We hope that candidate Hillary Clinton will accept our offer so we can give her the same opportunity”, said Jackson, who is president and CEO of the Impact Network.

Trump was recently criticized, however, for making the case black voters to support him in front of largely white audiences.

Jackson said on the Impact Network’s website that the network requested interviews with both Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and that the interview was not an endorsement of any candidate.

‘He will then give an address to outline policies that will impact minorities and the disenfranchised in our country.

“Citizens around the country will see, as I’ve have seen, the heart and compassion Mr. Trump has for all Americans, which includes minority communities whose votes have been taken for granted for far too long”, Burns said in the statement.

“The bottom line is what will his administration do to make sure we don’t have a divided country?”

“There are many adversities and setbacks in our communities when it comes to crime, education and jobs”, Jackson added.

Trump has also faced criticism for repeatedly using simplistic and condescending rhetoric when discussing the experiences of African-Americans.

The visit would be Trump’s third to MI since the Republican National Convention.

Trump has been direct in his approach on the campaign trail, though he’s made his appeals in front of predominantly white crowds in suburban areas. “You have no jobs”, Trump said earlier this month at a speech in Dimondale, Michigan.

He told African American voters in Akron last week: ‘What do you have to lose? The Clinton campaign has not yet announced plans for an appearance from Clinton or other top-ranking Democrats at the parade.
