Parrikar leaves for United States, logistics deal on anvil
India will aim to get armed drones technology from the United States during Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s visit to the United States.

The defense defense minister Manohar Parrikar will be flying Monday to meet the obama government and will be asking the usa to provide India with lethal drone technology.
Carter has made military ties with India a priority, and established a special unit within the Pentagon previous year to promote cooperation with that country.
Defence minister Manohar Parrikar will on Wednesday visit a Boeing facility in Philadelphia where the USA aerospace giant manufactures its CH-47F Chinook heavy-lift helicopters, which will be inducted into the Indian Air Force in 2019.
The enhanced honour is reserved for valued guests. The United States is also likely to push its case for the manufacture of American fighter jet planed in India under the “Make in India” initiative. Parrikar gave Carter a tour of his home province, the western resort area of Goa, before talks in New Delhi.
Parrikar, accompanied by Carter, also laid a wreath at the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial.
The two leaders noted the signing of an information exchange annex under the framework of the Aircraft Carrier Joint Working Group.

They welcomed the conclusion of the bilateral “White Shipping” technical arrangement for data sharing on commercial shipping traffic and also discussed cooperation on capabilities to augment India’s capacity for maritime domain awareness (MDA). This will be the sixth meeting between the two defence ministers. It gives access only to logistics such as fuel, for joint exercises and relief, humanitarian operations.
