AT&T Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Active receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates
The timeline is divided into three different stages, with the first one being Manufacturer Development, the next one involving testing on T-Mobile’s end, and the last part is reached when the update itself is finally ready to be rolled out.

Specifically, the update now rolling out is compatible with Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE which bears the model number SM-T805 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 SM-T705.
We knew Samsung was working on a follow up to its Galaxy Folder flip phone. After a string of leaks and rumours, with some reports also point out to an FCC certification in the wild, the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 has been spotted doing the rounds of the internet, once again. “Samsung gives expect the upcoming release of the Galaxy Tab S3, which apparently has similar qualities to its predecessor, the Galaxy Tab S2, but with some innovations so far not known”. It’ll likely run Android Marshmallow.
At the Enterprise Business Showcase held at Putrajaya, the South Korean tech giant showed how businesses can benefit from the enterprise-ready features of the Note 7.
“In order to receive this software update, your device must be on current baseband version ending in PB1, PB3, or PB6”. Android 6.1 was installed, and included by latest security update. Users need a Wi-Fi connection to download the upgrade, which is being pushed out OTA. Juicing up the device is a 1950mAh battery. The Galaxy S5 update is around 938 to 955 MB while the Galaxy S5 Active is from 906 to 907 MB. This brings the build number of MMB29M.G870AUCU2DPH2 to the handset. An automatic push notification should appear once the firmware is ready.
Aside from the storage issues, the report also pointed out the poor battery life which totally mismatched the power consumed by its large screen.
Another new feature arriving on this device is iris recognition.
Users can also take advantage of the Android Pay, a safer, faster and more efficient wireless payment service comparable to Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

Frustrated AT&T users are understandably feeling left out in the cold as the network continues to work on the update, even though the Note 4 is a newer device than either the Galaxy S5 or S5 Active.
