Conor McGregor Defeats Nate Diaz By Majority Decision

McGregor himself hinted that’s where his career could take him next, but with a noticeable foot injury reportedly stemming from Diaz checking one of his many low kicks last night, the future, at least immediately, is somewhat uncertain for the UFC’s golden draw.

During and after the fight, social media was blowing up with calls for McGregor-Diaz 3.

“I’m gonna go back down in weight”, McGregor said.

“Now this trilogy is on my terms, come back down to 155 and we’ll do it”.

“I’ve been a lightweight the whole time”, Diaz said. But the strategy worked for McGregor, who was able to avoid the ground game that ultimately lost him their initial fight at UFC 196. The first two fights between McGregor and Diaz were contested at 170 pounds.

“I thought I won that fight, they can’t have a m**********r like me winning, I’m too real for this sport”.

“I want number 3”. “Thank you to my team, Richard Perez, Gilbert, Jake and my brother Nick Diaz, he’s the best fighter in the world”. The UFC honcho tells McGregor to come back to the featherweight division and fight interim champion Jose Aldo.

If McGregor and Diaz are going to have a third fight to complete the trilogy, it could be a while.

McGregor evened the score in his rivalry with Nate Diaz by outpointing him Saturday night at UFC 202 in a rematch of their two-round welterweight thriller in March. If they want to do that, if they want to give my belt to the guy I KO’d in 13 seconds, and bury that decision in the prelims or the Fight Pass stuff, that’s what they’re gonna do. “You won’t see me until then”.

Said White, “If I was Conor, I’d defend my title”. This time at 155 pounds. McGregor pummeled Diaz with multiple shots in the first round, giving Diaz a bloody facial gash, but Diaz weathered the storm and countered with a few shots of his own near the end of the round. Hell yeah. That’s what I wanted this fight at so I could have a six-pack.

The upper weight limit for featherweights is 145 pounds.

But White is imploring McGregor to defend his featherweight championship before getting back in the octagon with Diaz. And if you don’t think like that, you don’t work hard enough. I knew I was up against it.
