Since long there has been news that Shahid Kapoor will be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati.

Although an official announcement is yet to be made, rumour has it that Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been confirmed as the lead stars for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious next, “Padmavati”.
There have been numerous media reports about Ranveer’s casting in the film, with some suggesting he is again teaming up with Bhansali, while others claiming the actor had fallout with the director and opted out of the project. One of his conditions was he wanted equal footing as Ranveer in the film. Bhansali paid heed to Shahid’s concerns by adding a couple of monologues for the actor, making the role meatier.
Looks like Bhansali doesn’t want to miss out on Shahid, and is considering his demands. He wants to take care of his wife Mira and his newly born daughter. Shahid will be playing role of Raja Rawal Ratan Singh where as RV will be seen as Allaudin Khilji. Coming back to Padmavati, the historical will see Shahid and Deepika sharing screen space for the first time. Before signing the film, Shahid had given two hits back to back i.e. Haider and Udta Punjab. Reportedly, the two leading men Ranveer and Shahid have begun bonding over gym sessions already.

“Padmavati” is in the pre-production stage; lavish sets are being created at Mumbai’s studios. “Prep is on in full swing and the grand set should be completed in the next 20 days”.
