President Obama calls Maine-Endwell Little League team after US
The Maine-Endwell Little League team, representing the Mid-Atlantic region, defeated a team from Seoul, South Korea by a score of 2-1 in Sunday’s Little League World Series final, capping off a 24-0 flawless season. So this is the 1st Little League world series win for the state of New York since 1964, And the Town Endwell New York brought the Little League World series championship back to the United States for the 1st time since 2011. I am also going to Induct the 2016 Endwell New York Little League team into my WALL OF HONOR!.

The first few innings were scoreless, highlighted by New York’s right fielder robbing a South Korean batter of a home run in the second inning.
Junho Jeong was the game’s losing pitcher, despite giving up just three hits, not walking a batter, and fanning nine in four innings. Harlost took off and scored easily to make it 2-0. Not just because of the resilience of these young boys making it all the way to the US National Championship game, but because of the insight to coaching that we got from the microphone worn by their head coach Joey Hale.
Yoomin Lee homered for the Asia-Pacific champs from Seoul.
East Seoul had the tying and winning runs on base in the sixth when Harlost got his eighth strikeout to end the game.
Now, only one game remained, in what was a magical season for both teams.
Chants of “U-S-A, U-S-A!” droned over his left shoulder as he dipped it to deliver a warm-up pitch. “U-S-A!” echoing throughout the park, Harlost struck out Choi and the title was secure.
NY managed just three hits, but strung them together for the two runs in the fourth inning.
South Korea had runners on first and second after Wontae Cho was hit by a pitch and Jeong singled with two outs in the second. Toms River, N.J., then in the East Region, 18 years ago, was the last team from a current Middle-Atlantic Region state to win it all. In what would be a one-run game, the play would later have huge implications. The squad threw two no-hitters in winning a second straight state title and went 4-0 in the Mid-Atlantic Regional at Bristol, Conn., before winning five straight in Williamsport.

The President went on to tweet his congratulations to the team Sunday after they beat South Korea to win the Little League World Series. “All of you need to understand everybody has a role”.
