Pak envoy Basit blames India for ceasefire violations
Two civilians were injured as Pakistani troops again violated the ceasefire by targeting Indian posts and civilian areas with mortar bombs along the LoC in four sectors of Poonch district on Independence Day, drawing retaliation from Indian troops.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner Abdul Basit in his remarks to mark his country’s Independence Day said: “Aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir could neither be ignored nor put on the back burner”.
Talking to reporters here, Singh charged that “Pakistan is creating an environment of terror and fear by resorting to firing and shelling on the borders and targeting civilian villages and engineering terror attacks”.
