Hafeez has been struggling with the bat early from this tour, after failing in Test series he couldn’t make any difference in the 1st ODI match of the series, where he was only able to score 11 runs.
The PCB statement said: “Hafeez complained about the pain in his left calf”.
Meanwhile, England have now called in fast bowler Mohammad Irfan as Hafeez’s replacement for remainder of the series.
The visitors have made three changes to their team that lost the rain-curtailed opening match in Southampton by 44 runs (D/L method) on Wednesday.
Irfan, the tall fast bowler who missed out on original selection for the squad, has been drafted into the squad following approval from Pakistan’s selection committee.
Hafeez has also been asked to undergo an assessment test on his bowling action ahead of the Pakistan tour of West Indies. He completed his 12-month ban imposed on him by the International Cricket Council last month.
Off-spinner Hafeez, now suspended from bowling because of an illegal action and with a knee injury that threated his tour participation preventing him from undergoing a re-test, was then dismissed for 11 in England s 44-run rain-affected win in the first ODI at Southampton on Wednesday.
