James Harrison looking to put discredited claim behind him

Televise it. In other words, Harrison, one of four players facing suspension if they don’t meet with the NFL over the league’s investigation into an Al Jazeera report from a year ago, doesn’t appear anxious about meeting with the NFL, because he wants to film the whole thing.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Harrison would meet with the league on August 28 at team headquarters with stipulations for the interview, including that questions be limited to the brief reference to Harrison in the Al-Jazeera video.

The league’s deadline is August 25. Harrison has agreed to the NFL’s demands for an interview about the recanted Al Jazeera report implicating him in a steroid controversy, but he is not happy about it. “They are going to suspend me, put me under investigation for being a pedophile just because somebody said it?” You can hire someone with real court experience to preside.

Harrison would also like to see the interview broadcast live for transparency. Before agreeing to the interview, the process was a major factor for the 38-year-old Harrison in evaluating his position.

As reported by USA Today, the National Football League said in a letter that the players would face suspension for conduct detrimental if they did not agree to the interviews. “That’s just the bargaining agreement that the players signed”.

I can’t see why we can’t have the media there and do a live interview to ask them questions, and I can answer them and you all can see what evidence they got – or don’t have”.
