Nassib throw winning TD pass for Giants against Jets

As time begins to run out on the preseason, there is a sense of panic among Giants fans that the offensive line is beyond fix. That didn’t stop McAdoo from calling out his offensive line. “We need to find some [tight ends] who can block better for us”, McAdoo said to Hubbuch. “There was a lot of work that went into that over the years, and, ultimately, being able to get out there was pretty cool”. “Our detail and our fundamentals need to improve and we need to stay out of long yardage situations”. It is next to last in average points.

Despite his calm demeanor toward the offense, McAdoo is unaccepting of the team’s performance.

“No one is happy with the way the first offense operated”, McAdoo said to Hubbuch. “We need to improve”.

“Frustration doesn’t solve anything”, he added.

“Just to get everybody out there and have everybody healthy and going for the start of the season, I think was goal No. 1 and I think we’ll be there”.

The Jets recovered the ball at the Giants 15, but three plays later, former Jets nose tackle Damon Harrison sacked Fitzpatrick for a 9-yard loss, stripping the ball loose for teammate Johnathan Hankins to recover.

The coach’s answer spoke volumes not just about the starters but also about the depth competing to make the roster. “I feel very confident that we are going to get the offensive line going in the right direction”, McAdoo said to Hubbuch.

– After nearly two seasons away and a handful of setbacks, receiver Victor Cruz finally took his first live action snaps since October 12, 2014, when a torn patellar tendon sidelined him for that season. Although he threw two incompletes on his first two passes, he woke the remaining crowd with four straight completions, ending in a 10-yard touchdown to the rookie Robby Anderson.

Although the Giants won their intra-stadium preseason game against the New York Jets 21-20, Big Blue’s first-team offense was thoroughly outplayed by Gang Green’s first-team defense.

“Well, there’s no fracture, so that’s a good thing, ” Casillas said.

Bowles was encouraged by the fact that there were mistakes made that can be corrected before the games really count.

“Obviously you’re just trying to get your feet up under you again and things like that”. At first, Casillas vowed he will be back by then – “I’m gonna be ready for Dallas, I’ m not gonna miss Dallas, man, I can’t miss Dallas, ” he said – and then softened that projection a bit.

While neither practiced Monday, the Giants did get good news.

“I’m not 100 percent sure”.

Cruz smiled when asked about what that first reception was like for him.
