Dodgers trade rumors: Los Angeles places Yasiel Puig on trade waivers
On Sunday the team placed Puig on trade waivers, according to Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal.

Ouch. Even so, the Dodgers seem to be in no hurry to trade Puig.
Puig has batted just.258/.321/.411 over the last two Major League Baseball seasons (160 games due to injury) but is slashing.382/.440/.645 since his demotion to Triple-A Oklahoma City on August 2.
Down in Triple-A with the Oklahoma City Dodgers, Puig is crushing the ball. Despite an early incident involving offensive material on his Snapchat account, Puig has reportedly received positive reviews as a teammate at Triple-A while hitting.382/.440/.645 with five home runs in 22 games. After the non-waiver trade deadline, any team can put in a claim on a player on waivers like Puig.
So, if the Dodgers aren’t recalling Puig or trading him, that means he’s about to play out the rest of the season in a purgatory state.
The Dodgers are expected to pull Puig off waivers after he is claimed and try to work out a trade in the offseason, according to FOX Sports.

Puig is still only 25 years old with a very affordable contract that will pay him roughly $17.5 million over the next two seasons. Regardless, it appears Yasiel Puig has worn out his welcome for good in Los Angeles.
