The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) imposed the fine after hearing a complaint filed by Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Bukhari told reporters that their petition is based on the prime minister’s May 16 speech delivered on the floor of the National Assembly.
Sharif has been under pressure since documents released as part of the Panama Papers data leak on May this year showed his children owned several off-shore companies. The protests on roads reflected Imran’s lack of confidence in judiciary, which may come into the scope of contempt of court also.
The PTI chief should not spread chaos in the streets on the basis of his so called allegations before the court verdict comes, he said.
This business was not hidden as its pictures were published in newspapers, he said.

The PTI chief also made seven other people as respondents in the petition, including premier’s daughter Maryam Safdar, sons Hussain and Hassan Nawaz, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the interior secretary and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). Sources were of the view that the nature of all references was nearly the same so speaker Ayaz Sadiq had to apply his mind without discrimination. The decision of the first reference against Imran Khan may be applied on other references as well and if he takes different lines on every reference then the post of the Speaker could become controversial. The 27-page petition also reminded that the top court itself had set a precedent in a similar case, wherein former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was disqualified under Article 62 for covering up mega corruption.
