The hidden message in Beyonce’s VMAs performance
Beyonce has blitzed the MTV Video Music Awards, leaving a stream of Aussie stars in her wake. The surprise performance by Beyoncé?

Beyonce’s four-year-old daughter was equally as stunning and elegant as mom, wearing a couture Mischka Aoki dress, which retails for just under $11,000 (£8,400) at NY department store Bergdorf Goodman.
Like a year ago, the award show was televised on 11 of Viacom’s cable networks.
Factor in the bold statement she made on the red carpet about Black Lives Matter, along with her record-setting eight wins (including video of the year for Formation), and it’s fair to say Beyonce WAS the VMAs this year. “I think the vision behind that was how awesome Teyana is, and how she’s been on the rise, and how she’s working”, said Blaze. Reps for Drake and Bieber didn’t return emails asking if they would or would not attend the show.
The R&B superstar was chosen as the recipient of this year’s (16) Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and her frequent collaborator and rumoured beau Drake was on hand to present her with the prestigious golden Moonman trophy at Sunday’s (28Aug16) ceremony. The VMAs will air live on MTV at 9 p.m.
Performers included Nick Jonas, The Chainsmokers, Ty Dollar $ign and Ariana Grande, who brought spin class to the VMA stage when she sang the reggae-tinged “Side to Side” with Nicki Minaj.
Other presenters included Alicia Keys, Puff Daddy and four of the Final Five gymnasts (Gabby Douglas was hospitalized for a mouth infection).
Drake won the first award for the night – best hip hop video for “Hotline Bling”.

If you’re scratching your head (with your claws) over Kanye West’s “Fade” video, which he premiered last night at the VMAs and now lives as a Tidal exclusive, just set aside a few hours and get ready to binge-watch the clip on a loop.
