Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson directed the Arkansas Department of Human Services to terminate its existing agreements with Planned Parenthood of Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. More than 25,000 women, men and teenagers across North Carolina use Planned Parenthood’s educational and health care services each year.

The federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, known as CMS, spoke to health agency officials in both states shortly after each announcement, referencing federal law that requires Medicaid beneficiaries to get covered services from any qualified provider.
StemExpress, one of the tissue companies that works with Planned Parenthood, is cutting its ties with the women’s health organization after a series of sting videos that have prompted congressional inquiries, sources tell POLITICO.
Hutchinson earlier this year signed into law a measure prohibiting public funding to abortion providers and entities that refer women to abortion providers, a move aimed at blocking any money to Planned Parenthood.

Now, StemExpress claims it is terminating its “business relationship” with Planned Parenthood.
“We call on Attorney General Leslie Rutledge to put her own party loyalty aside and advise the Governor to delay taking action that exposes the state to costly litigation risks and hurts families in violation of federal law”, the resolution reads.
In a letter sent to Planned Parenthood Southeast, Bentley said the contracts would be canceled within 15 days.
Supporters of Planned Parenthood were disappointed with the news.
Arkansas is one of at least three Southern states that has decided recently to eliminate Planned Parenthood funding.
