National Football League roundup: Cowboys turn to Prescott with Romo sidelined

Who knows? Maybe Dak plays as great as he has in the preseason, and we may see a similar situation with the Cowboys, that we saw with the Denver Broncos going with Brock Osweiler over Peyton Manning past year. He has completed 39-of-50 passes (a whopping 78 percent) and thrown for 454 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

Prescott now takes over as the starter with Jameill Showers as the backup.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if the Cowboys made a trade or picked up a veteran quarterback to act as the primary backup after final cuts.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett wasn’t ruling quarterback Tony Romo out of the regular season opener on Saturday and Sunday didn’t find him delivering a different message. However, with a promising QB like Prescott, the Cowboys are not panicking yet for the new National Football League season and National Football League rumors state that Dallas is even looking forward to the future with Prescott. The Boys I believe are still optimistic about this season due to a great preseason peformance by rookie quarterback Dak Prescott. But this could also be good news for the Cowboys so they can start moving on from Romo, who has not be healthy the last few seasons. He said that he is one of the smartest players in the 2016 draft class.

So what now? Romo, who missed 12 games last season as the Cowboys fell from 12-4 to 4-12, will be out for at least six games, but maybe 10. “I told him to keep himself right, stay in the best shape, keep fighting and you’ll be back”. Because of that, Jerry Jones opened training camp by declaring Dallas would no longer pin its hopes on star players returning from injuries.

The Cowboys might not have envisioned this severe a test this soon. We just called it something different.

According to National Football League rumors, the injury is in the same area as Romo’s previous back injuries but a different one. “A lot of other people outside this building have suggested they know what the timetable is”.

“How do you create a name for yourself without stepping up on those situations and becoming that guy?” cornerback Brandon Carr asked.
