Xiaomi AmazFit Smartwatch launched in China for 799 Yuan

Xiaomi, or rather Huami launched its first smartwatch in China on Tuesday. It also includes a 28nm Global Positioning System sensor which assists in better location tracking and distance calculation for workouts.

The ceramic bezel features scratch-resistant material, and you have the option of switching out the 22mm bands and adding your own.

Set to launch tomorrow in China for 799 Yuan ($120), it seems improbable that this device will make it to the US or Europe. It comes with a high-quality 22mm wristband with lugs, allowing users to replace it easily.

On the specifications front, Amazfit comes with a 1.34-inch display with a resolution of 320 x 300 pixels and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 280mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0BLE + Wi-Fi and a sufficient 4GB of internal storage. Till date the company launched only fitness bands under the Amazfit but the Amazfit Watch is the first ever smartwatch from the company. There’s also IP67 certification, which means the gadget should be able to keep water, sweat, dust and other such niceties at bay. It includes a 200mAh battery that is said to give upto five days of battery life.

Xiaomi says the Amazfit will work with any Android device that supports the MiFit app and has it installed. With the Global Positioning System mode turned ON, the watch is mentioned to give 35 hours of battery life while the for just tracking steps, it can last upto 11.6 days. There’s also a dedicated heart rate monitor on the back which is capable of constantly keeping track of your heart’s paces. The company has also partnered with Alibaba to offer mobile payment support for the AliPay service.
