Apple (AAPL) on Monday sent out media invitations for a September 7 event, presumably to reveal its 10th-generation smartphone, the iPhone 7.
Many people are hoping for better battery life, smaller devices, new colors, and higher storage for the new phone, but we are guessing fans will be happy either way with any new features Apple made a decision to integrate (but maybe not the headphone jack…).
Creative Strategies analyst Tim Bajarin, a longtime Apple watcher, told USA TODAY recently that Apple may hold off on what people would considerer a major upgrade until 2017, the iPhone’s tenth anniversary.
Apple is expected to give the inside of the phone its typical touch up, with better memory, a faster processor and better cameras.
Apple is also tipped to unveil a second-generation Apple Watch, with an expected new model that will be waterproof and have Global Positioning System for improved performance when running and cycling. One possible reason for the change may be to create a bit more room on the iPhone in order to boost the phone’s battery, CNET reported.
Apple will soon unveil the iPhone 7, a smartphone that’s supposed to look nearly exactly like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s.
Finally, there have been several leaked pictures purporting to show a blue iPhone 7, suggesting Apple may be considering different colour options. And the phones will run the already announced (and available as a beta) iOS 10 software update, which, among other new features, fancies up its iMessage app. The two prominent dots in the centre of the invite hint at dual camera setup at the back of one the new iPhone models. This appears to be enough to highlight the launch of the most anticipated handset of 2016.
Apple Watch (2nd gen) is also rumoured to launch alongside the new iPhone models.
The Apple iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are displayed during an Apple media event in San Francisco, California, Sept. 9, 2015. It conveys the slogan See you on the seventh, which may imply the name of the iPhone 7, and also the date.

There is some suggestion that the iPhone 7 will be waterproof. The iPhone 7 will be relying on Lightning cable headphones instead of the traditional ones. Let us know below or over on our Facebook page. The firm may also show its next Apple Watch.
