During the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, Drake revealed he has been in love with Rihanna since a long time while presenting her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

“When I think about the Video Vanguard Award and receiving this tonight, all I can think of is my country”, the 29-year-old singer-turned-actress and entrepreneur said.

But, at the end of the day, Bey isn’t just a singing diva and world-wide superstar, she’s also a mom to adorable Blue.

Rihanna thanked her family, friends and hometown of Saint Michael, Barbados for helping her succeed in her 11-year-career.

The Chicago, Illinois native was chatting to MTV News reporter Meredith Graves behind the scenes at the Madison Square Garden prizegiving in NY, when the Formation superstar walked up to her friend and hugged him from behind. She later signed a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings after auditioning for its then-president, hip hop producer and rapper Jay Z. Rihanna’s first two studio albums, “Music of the Sun” (2005) and “A Girl Like Me” (2006) charted on the top 10 of the U.S. Billboard 200 and respectively produced the singles “Pon de Replay” and “SOS”.

“My success started as my dream, but now my success is not my own”.

The rift began after one line in his track Famous states: “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex, I made that b***h famous”.

Britney Spears returned to the VMA stage but faced accusations she lip-synced her performance of Make Me from her new album Glory.

Presenters on the night included recent Olympic gold medallists, swimmer Michael Phelps and USA gymnasts Simone Biles, Aly Raisman, Laurie Hernandez and Madison Kocian.

Who thought she could follow Beyonce?

Riri, as she’s fondly called by her fans is a Barbadian singer and songwriter. The best male video nominees are West, Drake, the Weeknd, Bryson Tiller and Calvin Harris, whose nomination is for “This is What You Came For”, which he co-wrote with former girlfriend Swift. He first missed his award for the “Hotline Bling” video for being stuck in traffic, probably the lamest and half-assed excuse next to “that was today?!”
