Orioles’ Dylan Bundy replaces Chris Tillman for start against Red Sox
Mookie Betts homered twice Tuesday, including a tiebreaking two-run shot in the top of the eighth inning that gave the Boston Red Sox a 5-3 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Right fielder Mookie Betts had come in tonight with career numbers against the Orioles hitting over.400 with six homers and 12 RBI’s from this season alone.

The umpires had to wait an hour because for some reason Major League Baseball rules have not evolved to take radar into account, but at long last they would acknowledge that, no, there was no point waiting around to try and pick up an 8-1 game for the last few innings at 1 AM. That aggression was on display in that home-run swing.
Late news has Chris Tillman being pushed back three days due to some shoulder stiffness.
“He’s a good player”.
With the game tied at 3, Betts hit his 28th home run off Brad Brach (7-2) to put Boston (66-52) ahead 5-3.
“It was just a fastball”. He did just that, as he kept Baltimore hitless through four innings. And I’m not suggesting that the Orioles would do that, I’m just saying that in my view that goes against the spirit of the game and of competition. So coming back is a good sign and hopefully the early stages (along with Sunday’s win) of a pattern that will sustain the O’s through the final 44 games. Abad was out and then Brad Ziegler was in the game.
Adam Warren (1-1) began the eighth for NY and gave up four runs in 1/3 of an inning. Robbie Ross, Jr. recorded an out, and Craig Kimbrel picked up his 21st save.
– Travis Shaw made Dylan Bundy pay for hitting Jackie Bradley Jr.to leadoff the second inning, ripping a single into the left-center field gap to score Bradley from second base with the game’s first run.
Rodriguez threw two pitches in the fifth before exiting with left hamstring tightness. Barnes completed the walk, which was charged to Rodriguez, and retired the next seven batters to face him.
Jonathan Schoop came closest to a hit. We weren’t freaking out in the dugout.
“Just comfortable, I guess”, he modestly said of his success in Baltimore.
Davis said that the Orioles are not concerned that they fell into third place for the first time this season. He walked Mark Trumbo and allowed a single to Pearce with one away, leading to him exiting the game.
Gallardo loaded the bases in the third with two outs.
Betts’ dominance over the Orioles aside, his skills at the plate and his mental strategy may just be flawless for the cleanup role in the Red Sox lineup. “We’ve thrown the ball well as a group over I don’t know how long, but we’ve thrown baseball a lot better”.
Showalter and trainer Richie Bancells came out to check on Gallardo, but he stayed in and walked Bogaerts and struck out David Ortiz. Garcia gave up five runs and seven hits in five innings, including three home runs.
Bundy (6-4) entered the contest having won four of his previous five contests, including three straight.
“It’s all right. It got me pretty good”.

Showalter said the Orioles would check on Gallardo Wednesday, but the right-hander doesn’t expect any tests. More stakes were. Are you tonight is you get to 89 runs batted in and what Joseph an hour talking about during the broadcast tonight move the I said if we showed up in Fort Myers this past Franken I told you there on the sixteenth of August.
