Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp insists Daniel Sturridge will be a regular starter this season despite the forward being named on the bench against Tottenham on Saturday.

He lauded his team for being “really flexible in offensive defending” and for the way in which they “played football” and had “wonderful moments with passing” and “the direction” in their game.

Jürgen Klopp leaned back in his chair, threw a glance to the skies, and wore the expression of a man who had just been told the last bus home had been cancelled. “We showed again that we can be really good and that’s what we have to show in each game and then everything will be good”.
Spurs owed a lot to the persistence of Erik Lamela, who created their equaliser and may feel unlucky that he was adjudged to have clipped Firmino for the penalty when the replays showed the faint contact to be marginally outside the area.
“He has still to adapt and learn the position”, he said.
‘I think I have adapted throughout my career to playing different positions and this one is different as well. Not every excellent player can thrive under every excellent manager.
However, Milner put in a good display at the back and Klopp believes that despite needing more additions in other areas of the field, left-back was a position where they can make do with Milner and Moreno.
Pochettino joked afterwards that he would be happy for Harry Kane not to score until the 10th match of the season if, as he did last season, he got to May as the top goalscorer in the league.
“Even the Burnley game was a pretty good performance until the last 15 or 20 yards of the field. I sign again to do the same”.
