Carolina Panthers get punter Andy Lee in trade with Cleveland Browns
The Browns traded punter Andy Lee and a 2017 seventh-round pick to the Panthers on Monday in exchange for the Panthers’ fourth-round pick in 2018 and punter Kasey Redfern. Jackson was waiting for him on the sideline and yelled at him.

And now, Lee – a three-time Pro Bowler – is relocating to Carolina. That’s probably a good sign for Browns fans, whose team has a lot of cooks in the kitchen, or maybe its more aptly mathematicians trying to answer the NFL’s ultimate problem: how to make the Browns respectable again.
“(It was) his pursuit, ” said Jackson. “Let’s be very honest”. If there’s another guy that has the ball, your job is to go get it.
Andy Lee is now 34 years old. Granted, he bounced off returner Bernard Reedy and it wasn’t pretty, but at least he tried.
The Cleveland Browns traded punter Andy Lee to the Carolina Panthers (AP). But for the Browns, they could not have enjoyed watching Lee, their former Pro Bowl punter, completely dog it on a 73-yard punt return touchdown by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Adam Humphries. The following year, Lee averaged a 43.2 net punting average, which ranks as the sixth-best single-season average in league history. One of the main reasons why they made the trade with the Cleveland Browns is because they recently witnessed Mike Scifres go down with a knee injury after taking a hit from the New England Patriots. In three games this preseason, he has 12 punts for 562 yards and a 46.8 gross average.

Lee was originally drafted in the sixth round (188 overall) of the 2004 draft by San Francisco and was traded to Cleveland for a conditional 2017 pick a year ago.
