PS4 Slim Will Support 5GHz WiFi
The original sketch, which you can see below, showcases a blend of PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 2 design elements for the PS4 Neo. It’ll reportedly weigh 4.5kg and will be available in white, with there being no confirmation as to whether it’ll also be available in black like the basic PS4 and the PS4 Slim.

The Trusted Reviews reported, Sony confirmed that all the information about the new PS4 Neo will be unveiled this coming September 7th. In it, it’s noted that the PS4 Slim now supports 5GHz Wi-Fi in addition to the previously featured 2.4GHz. You can see the new DualShock controller with a second light bar in this PS4 Slim unboxing video; it’s one of the few that hasn’t been or shut down as Sony frantically bails. The first image is a screenshot of the “View Connection Status” screen in the Network menu. And lastly, shortman82 posted up one final tweet that suggests that the PS4 Slim will also support B/G/N/AC WiFi modes. Users will be able to switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies at any time, provided they have the requisite networking technology. The current PS4 only has support for the latter, which means that the upcoming slimmer version would have better performance.
While 5 GHz does have a shorter range than 2.4 GHz, it’s less prone to interference and allows much more throughput when it comes to bandwidth, allowing for faster speeds and more stable connections.

The rumored PS4 Slim is looking all too real at this point, with numerous leaks and even unboxings of the alleged slimmed down PlayStation 4 console making their way to YouTube (and then being taken down by Sony).
